Bullying
All members of the Biola community are expected to treat one another with respect and Christ-like compassion. Any form of harassment, bullying, insults, slurs and other forms of derogatory speech or behavior have no place in a Christian community.
Conduct constituting bullying as defined here will not be tolerated and is subject to disciplinary action. Bullying can include taunts, threats, offensive touching, violence, destruction of property, intimidation, and any pattern of communication or behavior that places a person in reasonable fear or causes substantial disruption. Bullying conduct can be in the form of actions, language (verbal, written, or showing images), or technological communication (e.g., texting, cell, social media).
Some behaviors that constitute bullying may also be considered unlawful harassment or harassment that Biola does not tolerate. In compliance with state and federal non-discrimination laws and regulations, and depending on the protected class to which the intended victim belongs, these actions will be processed according to either the Title IX-Sexual Misconduct Policy or the Discrimination & Sexual Harassment.
