Too often we end prayers by saying, "In the name of Jesus," when what we have actually been doing is praying in our own name the whole time. What we need is for the gospel to shape our prayers all the way down. We need to learn the truth of what God has done for us so that we can actually draw near in the truth of our lives to the God who redeems.
